    China Market: 1Q09 Search Engine Revenues Down 10.6% on Quarter

    Adam Hwang, who writes for DIGITIMES has reported that according to China-based consulting company Analysys International, the Online search engines in the China market generated total revenues of 1.37 billion yuan (US$200 million) in the first quarter of 2009, dropping by 10.6% on quarter but rising by 47.9% on year.

    Alibaba.com Reports Mixed Results- Q1 Profit Falls YoY

    Chinese B2B  e-commerce company Alibaba.com Ltd (1688.HK) recorded net profit of RMB 253.4 million, down 15.7% year-on-year but up 27.1% quarter-on-quarter, for the first quarter of 2009. Revenues grew 18.6% to RMB 806.6 million, coming in flat against the previous quarter.
