China's outbound travel market is expected to maintain rapid growth throughout 2009 despite the sharp decrease in inbound travel - a result of the global financial crisis. Statistics show that China's outbound tourists totaled 46 million in 2008, up 12% from 2007; in 2009, China's outbound tourists are predicted to reach 50 million, a 9% increase from 2008.
Noppen is hosting its China Leisure Travel Summit 2009 next week in Beijing, to provide an exclusive B2B platform for international outbound travel service providers and Chinese travel agencies. With a growing yearly attendance, this event is expected to attract more than 180 professionals in the travel sector.
Dr Grace Pan, Chief Strategy Officer with SinoTech Group, will Chair the 2 day event as well as keynote with a speech entitled, "The increasing success of Internet use in the China travel business". During the two day summit, Dr Pan will leverage her extensive expertise in travel and digital marketing to speak face-to-face with business leaders from international outbound travel agencies, trade associations and tourism related industries to help those decision makers gain better understanding in how to better use online media and digital marketing solutions to drive more ROI-based marketing outcomes.
I think events like this are a reflection of the importance of the influence digital marketing has in China and it's application for the travel sector.
