China's Xinhua News Agency and the Chinese search engine provider Baidu.com have signed an information technology cooperative agreement.
Under the agreement, the two parties will implement strategic cooperation in areas such as search engine technology, Xinhua News Agency's multimedia database, Internet video, and information resource development.
Zhou Xisheng, vice president of Xinhua News Agency, stated that Xinhua News Agency has maintained a good communication and exchange relationship with Baidu.com. The signing of this cooperative agreement is a strategic measure for the joint development of the two parties and it will promote the business development of both parties to create good prospects for cooperation.
According to Ren Xuyang, vice president for Baidu.com, with the rich news information and materials of Xinhua News Agency and its own Chinese-language information search technology, Baidu.com will cooperate with Xinhua News Agency in development of technology and news information resources, to make greater contributions to the development of China's multimedia news information and news monitoring industry.
As the national news agency of China, Xinhua News Agency has a complete worldwide network for the collecting online news information, along with a multi-language and multi-functional press release system. Supporting by its self-developed comprehensive commercial information service platform, a large multimedia database, an authoritative newspaper cluster, and the largest photo archive in China, Xinhua News Agency has rich news information resources.
