In news reported on Media, Dutch-Italian confectionary company Perfetti Van Melle is understood to have split its media business between Carat and ZenithOptimedia in China, displacing incumbent Maxus.
The move follows a competitive pitch that included OMD and Mindshare in addition to Carat and Zenith. Maxus is not believed to have participated.
Carat will now handle Perfetti’s Mentos, Chupa Chups and Big Babol brands, while Zenith will work on Alpenliebe.
Perfetti is the leading producer of lollipops in China. Its Chupa Chups account is held globally by BBH Singapore.
