Welcome to the Digital Marketing Inner Circle

This time I am thrilled to present - Gavin Heaton, Strategy and Development Manager at global software giant - SAP. Many of you may know him by his 'other' name - The Servant of Chaos where he produces a regular blog for digital marketers. He is a regular twitterer - and in his spare time co-authors Age of Conversation where bloggers from all over the world are invited to contribute, at one time, on a range of topics.

This time I look outside the media and advertising industry and introduce Seb Chan - Head of Digital, Social and Emerging Technologies at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia. Most people I have interviewed are rightly passionate about their roles and businesses and this comes across strongly in their profiles and opinions. I thought Seb, who is removed from the media and publishing industry may give us a big picture overview of the digital landscape - and he doesn't disappoint through some more tailored questions I have thrown his way. He gives a fascinating insight into some issues we face as an emerging digital society, our media habits - and our industry's future. This time we introduce Nathan Bush - Social Media Strategist at Brisbane agency DP Dialogue.  Social Media seems to have happened so quickly.  This pace of change is the new nature of our industry as we go through perhaps the most interesting period since 'advertising' started - some say as early as the 1850's.  Though, it is an exciting time to be involved in our industry Nathan raises one of the most common issues I hear - how do we keep up when each day there seems to be some new platform or innovation to investigate?

One of the more enjoyable things we get to do on the ‘Digital Marketing Inner Circle” is interview interesting people I meet and get to know by being involved with the industry. This interview is with Motoko Hunt, Founder and Japanese Search Marketing Strategist. Born and raised in Japan, Motoko is now the chair of SEMPO Asia and has been the co-chair of SEMPO Japan since 2005.  She’s been active in this industry for at least ten years and seen a lot of changes happen.
