Phoenix Nest will Replace Baidu Classic in 2 Weeks PDF Print E-mail

For the past month the R&D team have been working on the integration of SinoMaximizer with the new Baidu Professional edition (called Phoenix Nest) This new platform will officially take over Baidu Classic edition (the Baidu bidding rank) in about 2 weeks (December 1st). These two systems Baidu have been running side by side for about 8 months but like all 'classic' systems before it, the end is nie.

Baidu Phoenix is welcomed by vast advertisers, according to research published by Baidu.com. The third quarter revenues of baidu.com have reached 1.28 billion RMB, a 39.1% increase compared with the same period last year. The net income of third quarter nearly hit 500 million RMB, which has increased 41.7%. The financial success partly attributable to the successful launch of Baidu Phoenix Nest program in April 2009.

Within half year of release of Baidu Phoenix, 70% advertiser has moved their advertising campaign from Baidu classic edition to professional edition. SinoTech Group has been testing the difference in performance between the systems for our SEM clients since April and we have generally seen lower keyword costs which is helpful for our campaign ROI.

Given the release of the Professional edition, we will no longer see Baidu selling the organic search results to advertisers, which has deteriorated the search quality and in the long term is harming the development of Baidu.com.
