altSome interesting news out this week with Google launching their new service, Google Drive.

 

However, a few hours later… Google Drive was blocked in China.

 

Chinese Internet users will not get the chance to use Google’s latest offering, Google Drive, which allows users to store files on Google's servers, unless using a VPN (as many of us in China do). While Google’s social networking service Google+ made a brief appearance in China this February, functioning for a couple of weeks, Google Drive was not as fortunate, only accessible for mere hours in China before the Chinese Internet police swept in and blocked access to the site.

Brand value is the net present value of future cash flows from a branded product minus the net present value of future cash flows from a similar unbranded product—or, in simpler terms, what the brand is worth to management and shareholders.

 

Brand equity is a set of perceptions, knowledge and behavior on the part of customers that creates demand and/or a price premium for a branded product—in other words, what the brand is worth to a customer.

 

But with the social web having such a dramatic impact on a brand, SinoTech Group thought it maybe kinda cool for marketers and brand managers to determine what is their social media or buzz equity (known as a BE Rank).

I was so wishing I also had this chance.

 

This event did not just mark the end of the competition but was a great opportunity for me and my social media colleagues to let our hair down and have some fun.

To give you an idea around 15,000 new cars go on the road in Beijing each week, over 700,000 new cars hit the Beijing streets in 2010.

 

The market is big and all carmakers want a slice of the action. All major car models are sold here, foreign car manufacturers like Mercedes Benz and BMW have large scale manufacturing plants outside of Beijing in a city called Shenzhen, to service the ever growing need for luxury cars in China and for export to other markets.{jcomments on}
